In an amazing turn of events Al Gore has recanted Global Warming! After selling all his stock in the Carrier Air Conditioning Company and buying heating oil futures, Al was noted to be telling his cohorts that global cooling was coming fast and that he was buying property in the Amazon Jungle where it’s nice and warm. April Fools!

I see various warmers doing tricks like hiding the decline, making warm temperatures disappear, adding to sea levels and even tricks like adding to temperatures, all in an effort to bolster their claims that anthropogenic CO2 is causing the Earth to warm. I don’t remember seeing the disappearing video trick, until now that is.
It seems about everyone and his brother had this alleged video from YouTube, posted by “BrianMerchant” up earlier today. It allegedly had Al Gore allegedly telling people at the 8th annual Games for Change Festival allegedly about something allegedly to the effect that population control will help save us from that nasty
global warming no climate change no climate disruption or whatever the latest term is.
I can’t say anything but allegedly because for some strange reason I can’t find the video, even though it was allegedly posted on at least several websites I found this evening, including YouTube. If you go to YouTube you get what’s in the below screenshot – “This Video Has Been Removed by the User.”
The second video is still up as of this posting , but who knows how long it will remain? I have it below, linked to YouTube, but for some “funny” reason I can’t seem to download it for posterity (AKA: So it won’t mysteriously disappear, too). Al doesn’t seem to be saying anything about population control in it. How long it will remain I don’t know. If you get a message that it’s gone “poof” please don’t blame me.
While the two screenshot programs I use will copy pages I can’t get them to copy the YouTube before and after at any of the websites I found it on. All I get is blank where the video should be. You can go here to LA Times Blogs or here to Breitbart TV and try it for yourself to see. You’ll see Al there with a woman (like above), but when you click to start the video you get the same message with no video. How long it will be up at these two sites I don’t know either, so don’t blame me if you go and there’s nothing there. We do have quotes about this from websites as follows……..
The LA Times quotes Al as allegedly saying……
Besides improving technology to reduce fossil fuel emissions, he is advocating “educating and empowering girls and women.”
“That’s the most powerful leveraging factor,” Gore said in a speech Monday in New York. “When that happens, then the population begins to stabilize and societies begin to make better choices.”
Since I wasn’t there and I can’t watch the video I’ll have to take their word for it. Online Journal quote Al as allegedly saying this…..
The former vice president also took to the stage in New York Monday to give a speech about population control, saying he advocates “educating and empowering girls and women,” the Los Angeles Times reports.
“That’s the most powerful leveraging factor,” Gore said. “When that happens, then the population begins to stabilize and societies begin to make better choices.”
He went on to state that having access to “fertility management” would help stabilize the population.
Pretty much the same alleged quotes from two different sources. To reiterate, I wasn’t there, nor can I see the mysteriously removed video. so who really knows what Al said?
Here’s more alleged quotes from the Daily Caller here……….
“One of the things we could do about it is to change the technologies, to put out less of this pollution, to stabilize the population, and one of the principle ways of doing that is to empower and educate girls and women,” Gore said. “You have to have ubiquitous availability of fertility management so women can choose how many children have, the spacing of the children.
“You have to lift child survival rates so that parents feel comfortable having small families and most important — you have to educate girls and empower women,” he said. “And that’s the most powerful leveraging factor, and when that happens, then the population begins to stabilize and societies begin to make better choices and more balanced choices.”
All I can say is it is certainly a mystery as to where this video went to and why it disappeared. Couldn’t be that Google, who owns YouTube had anything to do with it could it? According to Wikipedia here is a tidbit about Gore and Google……
He is a founder and current chair of the Alliance for Climate Protection, the co-founder and chair of Generation Investment Management, the co-founder and chair of Current TV, a member of the Board of Directors of Apple Inc., and a senior adviser to Google
Oh my? Senior adviser to Google? Hmmmmmmm……..
Anyway, I am really curious about why the video has disappeared. This may end up being like UFO’s only called UVO’s (Unidentified Video Objects) that everyone “knows” exist, but can never prove with a clear, clean video.
I do have the following questions for Brian Merchant:
- Did Google remove it? If so did they do it arbitrarily? Or, did they ask nicely?
- Did Gore request it removed?
- Since Brian Merchant appears to have been at this conference (I assume he took the video) is he an Al Gore fan and felt guilty about it and merely removed it and there’s no conspiracy?
- Was Brian Merchant threatened by someone’s attorney? I ask because evidently no video cameras were allowed at the conference. If that’s the case I do find it kind of unusual that he would have been told to remove the first one and not the second one and that on his YouTube page there’s another video (who knows how long either of them may be up?)
I will keep trying to find the mysterious disappearing video, but I won’t hold my breath that it will ever surface unless someone was able to save it before it disappeared from YouTube, or if Brian Merchant puts it back up. If I find it I’ll post it up. Perhaps I should get OJ Simpson to help me find the real video?
More CO2 Insanity? Seems like it to me, but without the actual video or sworn statements from witnesses about what Al Gore actually said at the conference, I only have my imagination, as do you.
I also have an alternate theory.
It could be this was removed so as to not let the ‘cat out of the bag’ about Al’s latest
scam scheme. We all know that carbon trading is having some more than major problems getting off the ground as evidenced by Al’s previous scam scheme at the Chicago Climate Exchange that was shut down due to lack of business.
However, if Big Al’s touting population control this could possibly - maybe – allegedly, signify one of the following three things:
- Al might have bought a lot of stock in Trojan Rubbers.
- Al might be heavily investing in Planned Parenthood and possibly planning on franchising drive-through abortion clinics.
- He may have knocked up a masseuse and is going way over the top trying to convince her to terminate the fetus.
It’s also interesting we seem to have some hypocrisy here. Can someone tell me why that we’re all supposed to have no more than two children to maintain zero population growth and why Al had four kids? I mean really Al, can’t you practice what you preach? (Don’t even get me started on his carbon footprint).
If this is all true, will Al give this the follow-through and have all his kids sterilized so they won’t reproduce and create that nasty CO2 that will cause the planet to overheat any day now? If not, will he at least give them all a lifetime supply of condoms?
Oh….and about those plastic water bottles…..shame…shame.
I’ll leave it to you do decide.
While I am not a big conspiracy person, I don’t see why I can’t wonder just what is going on with all of this and who or what is behind these problems?
Is it a conspiracy? Stupidity? Vanity? Someone upstairs quashing things? Inter-agency arguing? All of the aforementioned? Sheer coincidence? I can’t really say with any certainty one way or the other, but with all the goings on, I do feel perfectly justified in asking questions, as do others.
What are they hiding, if anything? Are the warmers afraid these new satellites will disprove all their global warming theories? Are the denialists afraid the satellites will prove that the warmers are correct and we do indeed have global warming? Is the government hiding something from us? I ask that last one because the article does mention that the USAF is interested on how solar rays affect their equipment. What equipment? HAARP? Something else we don’t know about?
Too over the top? Well maybe yes, maybe no. It may be something no one will ever know, or not find out for a hundred years. JFK was assassinated in 1963 and no one’s even seen what the whole deal was with that and we may never be privy to that information.
For those who are interested in this, Popsci has a very enlightening article today titled “Who Killed the Deep Space Climate Observatory, which was originally proposed by Al Gore in 1998 and then killed right after George W. Bush was elected.
In what sounds like the end to the Indiana Jones Movie, Raiders of the Lost Ark…….
Nearly a decade ago, NASA built an Earth-monitoring satellite that could have observed global warming in action. Then the agency stashed it in a warehouse in Maryland, where it remains to this day.
It’s an excellent article that will open your eyes to some of the CO2 Insanity that goes on behind the scenes at NASA, NOAA and the White House. I, for one, would like to know why we have a very expensive piece of equipment ($100 million of your tax dollars) sitting in a warehouse for almost a decade that will shed some more light upon the global warming theory, regardless the outcome.

Al is really good at making post-event predictions. You can bet if they had a heat-wave last week instead of snowmageddon he would have said that was caused by global warming, too!
Here we have a project with a power plant looking for someone to buy the CO2 they capture and evidently we have no takers thus far.
Basin Electric Power Cooperative is searching for customers to buy the carbon dioxide it plans to retain in an experiment to reduce emissions of the gas from its Antelope Valley power plant, a company official said.
One crucial element is whether Basin can find customers for the carbon dioxide that would be captured from one of Antelope Valley’s two 450-megawatt generating units, he said
Great Plains processes lignite coal to make synthetic natural gas and retains much of the carbon dioxide in the process.
Man I would have thought Al Gore would have been first in line to buy all this nasty CO2 up so he could stick it someplace. Perhaps he’s blowing all his money on masseuses, divorces and his new bachelor pad in upscale Montecito, California. Talk about more CO2 Insanity.

If Al “Sex Poodle” Gore had really been neutered, millions of legitimate masseuses would breathe easy.
Al’s basically had is cojones removed as far as global warming is concerned, at least for this year.
Per Green Hell Blog…..
Speaking about the likelihood of climate bill being passed by Congress in 2010, Al Gore told a conference call of supporters tonight that, “this battle has not been successful and is pretty much over for this year.” Gore bitterly denounced the Senate and federal government stating several times, “The U.S. Senate has failed us” and “The federal government has failed us.” Gore even seemed to blame President Obama by emphasizing that “the government as a whole has failed us… although the House did its job. [emphasis added]”
Poor Al, visions of carbon trading bucks were dancing in his head but alas, Santa didn’t show up this year for him and his buddies.
I guess with no cojones, his “dangling chad” won’t be of much use. I would offer the suggestion that any masseuses out there be careful or they may find a blubber like “sex poodle” after them. There’s always Viagra, which can create global warming in Al’s pants.
Source: Green Hell Blog
Al was accused of trying to get fresh with her way back in 2006. Perhaps that global warming in his pants just got too hot?
There’s other accusations floating around, we’ll have to wait and see what goes on with those.
Until then, Al, I’d suggest that next time you call a masseuse you might consider applying an ice pack to your crotch to cool that global warming off before she arrives.
If you want to read all the “Gore”y details the Source: Washington Post
In a mysterious epidemic of common sense Congress has dumped their effort to cap carbon emitting from power plants. The Wall Street Journal calls it “major blow to one of President Barack Obama’s top priorities.” I call it a victory for the USA because even if you believe in CO2 caused global warming, it’s still a dumb idea.
Why is it a dumb idea? For starters if they charge power plants for emitting CO2, guess who’s going to pay for it? The average American citizen, that’s who. You aren’t really naïve enough to think the power companies will absorb the cost are you? If you are that dumb, think about this. Pacific Gas and Electric in California is putting in smart-meters all over the place. Yes it’s costing them money, but they will be saving money reading them, too. They won’t need meter readers on foot anymore, they can now get it via wi-fi and send you a bill. Yet they still got the Public Utilities Commission to approve a rate hike to cover the smart-meters. Nice eh? They save money, we get to bear the cost of the meters. Lovely arrangement, if you’re PG & E. Like having a jeweler get Rolex watches for free and then turning around and still selling them at full market rate. Nice bump in profits with someone else paying your overhead.
It’s also mandated that they start getting a larger percentage of their power from renewable energy sources like solar and wind. Problems with those, too. I’d question if there are enough of either to make the mandated reductions and even if there are, neither provides power 24 x 7, it’s only provided when the wind is blowing or it’s daylight. They will still need to get power from non-renewable sources like coal and natural gas power plants when the renewable energy isn’t working or is working at greatly reduced levels.
That renewable energy isn’t free either. Both solar and wind are heavily subsidized. If they weren’t your power bill each month would be more than your mortgage is. So what you say? It’s subsidized by the government? Obama is sending stimulus money? It’s free? It’s your tax dollars that pay the subsidy bozo. Ever wonder why your kids education sucks or why that state college is charging higher tuition every year? Wonder why institutions such as Cal Berkeley have reduced the amount of California students and increased the amount of foreign students and now your kid is turned away? Part of it’s because they take tax dollars that could be spent on education and waste it on overpriced wind and solar power and gigantic self-perpetuating bureaucracy’s like CARB who can piss away tax money faster than a drunk sailor on shore leave.
Secondly, we’re not the number one polluter on the planet anymore, China just got that honor, India probably isn’t far behind. Now I ask what good is us spending all this money to reduce CO2 when the China and India pump it out in droves? That’s about as stupid as California’s carbon regulations being implemented. All they will do is drive up the cost of business in California and drive out what businesses haven’t left already. If you manufactured goods in California why would you want to stay here and pay more when you can move next door to Nevada or Arizona and save a huge bundle of cash, not to mention not having to deal with the bureaucrats in Sacramento? Much of the air pollution in California blows across the Pacific Ocean from China. I’ve read as much as 1/3 of it is created in China. So, I’m supposed to pay more for groceries, gas, and electricity when it’s not even going to get rid of as much as 1/3 of the pollution? Now that’s CO2 Insanity!
I hope that “sex-crazed poodle” Al Gore and all his carbon trading butt buddies lose a lot of sleep over this and that they lose a lot of money. It’s about time they get screwed instead of us for a change.
Here’s a good one. A Brit named Ian McEwan writes a book on climate change called Solar (my how original!), then blames Americans being bored with climate change as the reason the book tanked. Gotta love that ego. Moreover he gets bad reviews and blames us being bored for that, too!
Here’s something from the Telegraph about the book and McEwan.
McEwan blamed American apathy for the negative reviews afforded to Solar, his satire about global warming.
The New York Times critic dismissed Solar as one of McEwan’s “lesser efforts” while the Washington Post called it “flaccid” and advised readers to “let Solar pass and wait for his next book to eclipse it”.
McEwan, who recently returned from a North American book tour, said many Americans had a “passionate dislike” for the novel.
Let me see does “lessor efforts” and “flaccid” sound like Americans are “bored” with climate change? Or, does it sound like the book sucks? Our fault we’re bored? Or, his fault for bad writing?
“Some of [the critics] were moaning that the novel had no plot and was formless, someone else was moaning that there was way too much plot. I think, though, that I caught America in a mood of profound boredom about climate change. They just didn’t want to hear about it any more, they were sick to the teeth. I think there was a strong element of that.”
Judging by the number of hits some climate change websites get, regardless if they’re “warmer” or “skeptic” sites I’d say he not only got the book wrong, he got the reason for bad reviews and sales wrong, too. Per his statement below, evidently he isn’t really sure we’re bored either.
He added, with a laugh: “Or maybe it was no good, there was always that possibility.”
This could also be a reason we’re turned off by the book. It perhaps hits a little to close to reality.
The main character in Solar is Michael Beard, a deeply unlikable Nobel Prize-winning physicist engaged in the battle against global warming.
Man, if that doesn’t sound like Al Gore, as they say, “I’ll eat my hat.” As “popular” as Al is, no wonder they’re panning the book. I mean who wants to read about a boring, untruthful, “sex-crazed poodle” who’s carbon footprint is so large someone might think he’s the cause of global warming all by himself? Flying all over telling us not to pollute, buying large mansions. That’s what I call getting off (pardon the pun) to a bad start from the get go.
Want another reason? Well, here from the horse’s mouth” we get the following.
“I did spend a lot of time with the science, and read an enormous number of papers, and it would seem to me there’s a fairly powerful consensus. About three-quarters of the papers I read thought we had a man-made problem and there was some urgency.
“At the same time, there are some very good sceptics out there. Sceptics are completely different from ideologically-driven deniers, who have no evidence but have interests to protect. It’s a very important distinction to make. Some of my best friends are climate change sceptics. The denial camp are really not scientists at all, they are very well-funded, particularly in the States, and they have specific agendas.”
See? We’re back to that same old “warmer” song with words like “consensus” and “urgency” (damn he forgot unprecedented and robust).
Then we get to more of the same old “warmer” song about skeptics “have no evidence but have interest to protect,” “really not scientists,” “very well-funded,” “specific agendas”
Want some more? It appears us Americans aren’t the only one’s who panned this novel. Seems the British don’t like it either, which is another indication that someone perhaps should admit that his book sucks, or at the very least that it’s only going to be read with any interest by people like him, who are dimwitted enough to believe in anthropogenic global warming. Here is some of the review from the Guardian, a British newspaper.
Ian McEwan excels at climate science but his one-dimensional protagonist makes you shudder.
Solar is a sly, sardonic novel about a dislikable English physicist and philanderer named Michael Beard. He’s a recognisable Ian McEwan type, a one-dimensional, self-deceiving man of science.
We have met others like him before in McEwan’s novels – such as Joe Rose, the science writer who narrates Enduring Love, or Henry Perowne, the brian surgeon protagonist of Saturday – but none is quite as repulsive as Beard.
Hmmmmmm…….other than the guy being British we’re sounding an awful lot like Al Gore again. I especially like the “repulsive” part. You can read the whole review here. I love the last paragraph, which is below.
What is absent from Solar, ultimately, are other minds, the sense that people other than Beard are present, equally alive, with something to contribute. Without them, after a while, it feels as if you are locked inside an echo chamber, listening only to the reverberations of the one same sound – the groan of a fat, selfish man in late middle age eating himself.
“Fat, selfish man in late middle age eating himself.” You have to again wonder if he used Al Gore as his model for the hero of the book. Perhaps he should have marketed as comedy instead of fiction.
No wonder his book tanked. Apparently no one likes it (well, maybe Al Gore bought it). I may have to read it to see if the “her0″ turns into a “sex-poodle” or not. Perhaps if he’d put some good old-fashioned porn in there he could share the Nobel Porn Price with Pachauri, who writes sex novels. I can see it now…..
“He entered the room with spaghetti sauce dripping from his chin, a portly man who looked like his eyes might pop out of his head any minute. His dark blue robe was half-open and barely covered him up. All of a sudden he flung open the robe and started humping my leg like a sex crazed poodle.”
Nah, the thought of that is even more revolting than anthropogenic global warming. More CO2 insanity.
Well it seems this might be a case of life imitates TV. They have that show “Are You Smarter Than a 5th Grader” it seems that we now have a real case of a 4th grader being smarter than Al Gore. Per this article from MySouTex.com you can see why.
R.A. Hall Elementary School fourth-grader Julisa Castillo has been named junior division champion for the 2010 National Science Fair.
Her project, “Disproving Global Warming,” beat more than 50,000 other projects submitted by students from all over the U.S.
Julisa originally entered her project in her school science fair before sending it to the National Science Foundation (NSF) to be judged at the national level.
Now I’d say that’s pretty darn good for a 4th grader, probably would be pretty amazing if most adults could do all that.
The NSF panel of judges included former U.S. Vice President Al Gore, 14 recipients of the President’s National Medal of Science, and four former astronauts.
“Before she sent it off, she just had to add more details, citations for her research, and the amount of hours she spent working on it,” said Julisa’s father, J.R. Castillo.
In addition to a plaque, trophy and medal, Julisa has won an all-expenses-paid trip to Space Camp at the U.S. Space & Rocket Center in Huntsville, Ala., which she plans to attend this summer.
Poor Al…….outsmarted by a 4th grader. Sometimes truth is not only stranger than fiction it’s better.
Like the saying goes “You go girl!”
