Seems one of our “illustrious” members of the House of Representatives now thinks “deniers” are dumb. Per this article from CNS News Re. Emanuel Cleaver thinks the “deniers” all can’t read above the sixth grade level. More CO2 Insanity.
Americans are growing skeptical about the threat of global warming because “they don’t get” the complex information that scientists deliver, according to Rep. Emanuel Cleaver (D-Mo.).
Unless scientists can simplify their arguments to the level of newspapers that “print at the sixth grade level,” Cleaver said, the public is “going to get a headache and bail out.”
Cleaver responded by suggesting scientists needed to dumb-down their information – and emulate newspapers.
“I think the newspapers are supposed to be printed at the sixth grade level and I think with something as important as (global warming), we’ve got to figure out how to simplify the language for the public, because otherwise they’re going to get a headache and bail out because they — not because they’re not concerned, but because they don’t get it.”
Well, that could explain the decline of the printed news. It’s been so “dumbed down” it’s dumb, and no one reads it. Or, perhaps we do get it and Cleaver doesn’t?
Nearly half of Americans now believe the threat of climate change is not a great as policymakers have characterized it.
“I think all of the denials and all of the talk of Climategate has had an impact, at least in the United States,” he said.
“In 1997, Gallup began conducting polls on attitudes in the United States on climate change and, tragically, the number of people who believed that climate change had been exaggerated, according to Gallup, the latest poll is 48 percent, and until the latest poll, the number of those who embraced climate change as being impacted by human activity was on the way up.
No, it’s called the general public isn’t as “dumb” as you’d like to think we are, and perhaps you’re not as smart as you’d like to think you are. We do get it. We get that in spite of the “Climategate” whitewashing going on that there’s some very telling e-mails that rather obviously show problems. Not to mention the getting almost too long to mention list of other ‘gates’ associated with climate fraud and the almost daily evidence that AGW isn’t happening.
Just how credible is Representative Cleaver? This is the same guy who allegedly was spit on by Tea Partiers, then backed off the claim and refused to answer if he was in an interview on Fox News, he’s also the same guy who claimed to be a few yards behind Representative Lewis when the alleged N-word was used, but videos seem to prove otherwise per this article on Big Journalism. Then toss in that he was one of the few who voted to keep Acorn funding after their recent scandal.
That should perhaps tell you some things you may want to know about the man and figure it out.
