Now here’s a good one! An article titled “Global warming ‘could make us shorter’ after horses are found to have shrunk the LAST time the world heated up.”
First, notice the favorite word of the warmers “could.” More unsettled settled science, the usual scare them to death but offer no legitimate sounding proof.
Second, notice we’re talking horses here. No not talking horses like Mr. Ed, but talking about horses. Actually it may be a case of horses asses talking about horses. I see no evidence about this affecting any other creature on the face of the earth, meaning to me that it could just be unique to horses and have nothing whatsoever do to with climate.
Third, this flies in the face of common sense when considering norms associated with climate and evolution. Generally speaking, it’s been agreed upon that when it’s warmer there’s more food and when it’s colder there’s less. So claiming that we get smaller horses when it’s warmer and there’s a larger food supply smells like horse shit to me. It also doesn’t explain the huge dinosaurs that roamed the earth during extremely warm periods with plenty of food around to eat and get big, nor does it explain that why, after whatever apocalypse caused the dinosaurs demise, the smaller animals that ate less survived while the larger ones died. When food is in short supply (like when its ice-age time) the smaller critters that eat less will get by while the bigger ones who eat like pigs won’t find enough food and thus starve to death. The exact opposite of this s0-called theory.
Nope, this sounds to me like another case of finding a solution to a non-existent problem as long as it can be blamed upon global warming.
More CO2 Insanity. Don’t believe it? Look at that guy in the picture above and tell me that’s going to be the next Seabiscuit?

Tilt! A word associated with pinball games (if anyone remembers what those are) is now associated with the warming and cooling of the planet.
The idea that slight shifts in Earth’s axis might have been enough to trigger the ice ages is a century old.
But a Harvard earth sciences Professor Peter Huybers has finally proved it, using computer models to test competing ideas – and finding that earth’s tilting axis is the only one that works.
So, per this, it’s not that nasty old anthropogenic (man-made) CO2 that certain warmers have been blithering about for decades, it’s the variation of the tilt of the Earth’s axis, something I remember hearing about in grade school about 50 years ago, in pre-Goracle times when kids were taught actual science and didn’t major in Greentard Brainwashing 101.
Two ‘cycles’ in the way Earth’s axis spins have an effect on the cycle – one lasting 10,000 years and one lasting roughly 40,000 years.
When they align correctly, ice melts. At the other extreme, glaciers advance.
‘And at least now we know with greater than 99 percent confidence that shifts in earth’s axis are among the factors that contribute to deglaciation.’
OK. We’re waiting for certain people out there we all know and ‘love’ to capitulate and say ‘oops!’, but we won’t hold our breath.

A photo of San Francisco at night with green power?
It seems San Francisco will soon have “free” green energy that isn’t “free” or very “green.” Instead of “free” and “green” we get this:
- Monthly bills will increase by $84 to $180 annually
- You’re signed up automatically and if you don’t opt out your stuck with the increase
- Due to the unreliability of wind power and solar your electricity will still come from coal and gas power plants when those don’t work on windless and cloudy days.
- The startup costs $19.5 million including $15 million placed in an escrow account to pay Shell Energy North America if the program is terminated before the contract expires in 4½ years.
San Francisco, touted as “the city that knows how” evidently only “knows how” to rip off the taxpayers. There are probably 19.5 million ways to spend that $19.5 million on things that would make San Francisco a better place to live than on overpriced faux green energy.
The city’s a mess in many places. Traffic’s a mess, the streets are a mess, the homeless are a mess, crime is a mess, there are many blighted places. Let’s not forget that the schools are taking it in the shorts thanks to Jerry Brown’s faux budget that recently fell apart and could also use that money.
Nope, in San Francisco politics it’s better to genuflect to the imaginary green energy god. Keeping PG & E who appears to be able to provide cleaner, more reliable and less expensive energy would have just been too simple compared to creating another SF bureaucracy that appears to be FUBAR before it even starts.
If you thought that the power going out a Candlestick Park during a nationally televised football game was an embarrassment just wait and see what happens, or doesn’t, as the case may be. No wonder the 49’ers want to move to Santa Clara.

……And another one bites the dust. British Petroleum is shuttering its solar manufacturing business. More proof that solar isn’t the big panacea it’s touted to be and is not going to be providing many shovel-ready jobs in the United States or anywhere else, with the possible exception of China.
The unit, which BP has been scaling back since 2008, is the latest sun energy business to fall victim to rampant competition from China, falling prices, overcapacity and lower government subsidies on which the industry still depends.
This doesn’t only affect Europe, this is going to have a worldwide effect…..
The company confirmed on Wednesday that it plans to exit its large-scale projects at Long Haven in the U.S. and Moree in Australia.
Add this to the long list of dead or dying companies such as Solyndra and Evergreen Solar in the US and…..
Swiss bank Sarasin said in a recent study that Conergy and Q-Cells were among the German solar companies most exposed to the sector’s crisis.
We continue to maintain that if solar power was such a great idea government subsidies would not be necessary for solar to be a big financial and energy success and it appears we’re becoming more right as each day passes. Someone should get the people running the US Department of Energy and California Governor Jerry Brown out of their green comas and advise them of this.
Please don’t bring up oil company subsidies. At least they have a viable product, make a profit and pay taxes.

The alarmist cries of unprecedented global warming causing unprecedented sea-ice melting at the poles doesn’t seem to be working. Perhaps if they yell louder it will obey.
Never mind that wind turbines routinely chop up hundreds of thousands of birds every year, it now it appears they may be about to start chopping up people, too! There are 1,500 accidents a year and those are only at UK wind farms and don’t count the rest of the world. So what’s happening?
A dossier of incidents, compiled by a campaign group opposed to wind farms, includes cases where blades, each weighing as much as 14 tonnes, have sheared off and crashed to the ground.
Residents living near a wind farm have reported sheltering in their homes when lumps of ice were thrown from blades from a 410-ft high turbine near Peterborough, Cambridgeshire.
So far three deaths (amended to 4) and no one’s been chopped, yet.
One involved a maintenance worker in Scotland who had become ‘tangled’ with the driveshaft of a turbine while the other three deaths took place during construction of onshore and offshore wind farms.
Tangled mangled in a driveshaft doesn’t sound like a very nice way to meet your maker though, does it?
Well, we hope it never happens, but sooner or later we’d predict that someone, someplace, will get hit by a flying wind turbine blade and chopped up. Meanwhile, think about the poor birds getting chopped on a daily basis for a power generation scheme that won’t profit without subsidies.

COP17 CON17 going on, the shrillness of those who want to make big bucks off the global warming scam is increasing exponentially.
Today we have the Honorable Foua Toloa, head of Government of Tokelau in the Pacific, who believes the island’s 1,400 inhabitants are at grave risk from
climate change lack of money. Of course him, and others in charge of low-lying (emphasis on lying) islands worldwide are hoping to cash in on the global warming gravy-train.
You can look at the graph below showing the south Pacific sea-levels at Tuvalu, which is adjacent to Tokelau, and see just how much that sea-level is rising (not).
You can also look at the below graph of the south Pacific. While, yes there is an overall uptrend of 2.73 millimeters per year, note the downtrend that is starting in 2010. Also note that 2.73 millimeters = 0.107480315 inches. Or, a whopping 10th of an inch a year.
Tokelau is 5 meters above sea-level. 5 meters = 16.4041995 feet. Divide 16.4 feet (196.850394 inches) by 0.107480315 inches per year sea-level rise and we find it will take a mere 1,831.5 years for Tokelau to be completely submerged.
You have to ask yourself what all the rush is about? Being submerged in 1,832.5 years? Or, helping the United Nations clown circus by BS’ing everyone in order to get hundreds of billions of dollars sucked from productive countries via phony carbon trading scams and carbon taxes?
You can read more about the low lying that is going on from Andrew Bolt here.
