Climate Dictatorships Arising From AGW Ashes?

As you’re probably aware a climate treaty is kaput, cap & trade is dead in the United States Congress and the “climate” for anything about climate change, global warming, climate disruption or whatever you prefer to call it, is literally going down in flames. Despite all of this and more, there are those who keep trying to force us to believe the unbelievable. Global warming has turned into a religion of sorts, that is now being used nefariously by governments to get us to do their bidding and enrich themselves.

The one world warmer government isn’t getting their way and it now appears that we have those who desire to trash democracy and common sense by creating climate dictatorships and perhaps ultimately, a one world dictatorship that is all-powerful and all-knowing. Do we have unelected wannabe despots at various levels of various governments trying to set dangerous precedents that will cost money and freedom worldwide? It sounds to me like they’re taking on the motto “if you can’t legislate then dictate.” Want some examples? Please read on.

California Air Resources Board (CARB) – Agency gone wild?

Let’s start with the California Air Resources Board.  This is what I’d call a fiefdom of officials who are usurping the power of the California Legislature and the people of California by pulling whatever kind of stunts they think they can get away with. It appears to me that they’re headed towards creating a state-level dictatorship based upon the green religion. Facts often don’t enter the equation because they might get in the way of power and control. They want to rule where you live, what you drive, whether you drive or not, what color your car is, what kind of smog testing will be done, what power generators do, what light bulbs you use, whether you can use your fireplace or not, what kind of gasoline and diesel fuel blends are used and anything and everything that they can claim has any effect upon the air. Their goal appears to be total, absolute control and nothing less, they want it all.

They have based regulations upon data from a supposed PH d who it turns out has a mail-order degree, better known as fraud, read here. Don’t dare to disagree with them or it may cost you your job like this poor fellow, read here. Many refer to them as the “Smog Nazis” and it’s an appropriate title as far as I’m concerned. They are in the process of and will eventually will drive a lot of businesses out of California to other states where they don’t have to deal with over-regulation. If California keeps heading down this path there may not be anyone around to pay the taxes that pay their salaries. It’s already costing jobs, read here. While that would be a fitting end to them, why sit and do nothing and let them ruin a whole state when they can be cut off now?

Do you want to know more about CARB? Here’s some information about this onerous group and some of the loony things they want to do to California? If the citizens of California vote to keep AB 32 in force this will only empower them more. The government is berserk enough already and sinking into insanity territory because they keep catering to the libtard and greentard agendas. Want to stop it? Vote yes on 23 and let’s buy some time to take a better look at reality.

  • CARB plans to institute “feebates” (taxes) on vehicles they deem to cause global warming.  Trucks, minivans, SUV’s, and sports cars are likely to be targeted.
  • CARB proposed regulations requiring that your car tire pressure be checked to make sure they are at a state-mandate pressure.  Before this proposal was withdrawn, CARB’s proposed punishment for noncompliance was a $1000 fine and 6 months imprisonment.
  • CARB has enacted regulations beginning next year that will put programmable thermostats into every new home and into the homes of those who choose to replace their furnace.
  • In one all too common example of the harm CARB bureaucrats have caused to struggling small businesses, family run Nor-Cal produce in West Sacramento did nothing but fail to file a report with CARB.  The business was socked with $43,400 in penalties.  CARB eventually reduced the penalty to $32,550 because of the business’s “cooperative actions.”
  • CARB commissioned a study outlining new diesel regulations that are now devastating California’s trucking industry.  The author of the study, “Dr.” Hien Tran was later found to have mail ordered his PhD from a “university” that listed a UPS store as its address.  CARB responded by neither firing Tran nor backing away from the study – even though key details of the study have now been found by CARB itself to be incorrect.
  • CARB used a $57 million legislative appropriation to adopt regulations rationing greenhouse gas emissions, but is unwilling to account for how these funds have been used.  A bill was introduced to find out how $30 million in unaccounted for funds were spent, but it was defeated by CARB’s political allies.
  • CARB has 1176 employees, and the average salary is over $85,000 a year.  While teachers are being laid off and nearly all agencies face cuts, CARB has added hundreds of new employees.

The state is already has about a $20 billion budget shortfall. If you want to accelerate the death of California then by all means keep your favorite idiot in the legislature, keep AB 32 in force and let CARB take this as a sign from the Global Warming God that the people of California condone their de facto takeover of the state and watch them get bolder. I think the Audi Green Police TV commercial may become more true than the citizens of California want. They will be fining the hell out of anything, regardless whether it moves or not and will use that money to increase the size and power of their bureaucracy.

I am unable to fathom why the California State Legislature ignores their obvious grab at the power to control about everything in the state. Of course the California Legislature appears to consist mainly of a bunch of argumentative, polarized, idiots, who haven’t come out with an on time budget for decades. They worry about crap like Feng Shui being applied to state offices while “Rome” burns. Then, when they finally do pass a budget it’s generally not balanced and causes the state to go even further into debt. This is CO2 Insanity at the state level and it needs to be stopped. You can read up on what’s going on at the state CARB dictatorship at Kill Carb.

Is the government in Australia is crazy, too?

You can go to the Jo Nova website and read parts 1 through 10 about how the Australian Green Nazis have totally screwed over the Thompson family who have been (for years no less) trying to start a feed lot. This is a continuing saga that people should read about and keep an eye on to see if the loons in the government prevail or if justice will. It’s a scary story that has an Alice in Wonderland feel to it.

What caused this problem is that the government has continually moved the bar for them to do business. Jumped 1 foot? OK, now jump 2 feet? Jumped 2 feet? Oh, well now you have to jump 3 feet! This tactic has cost the family millions of dollars, much frustration and plenty of stress. They’re legitimate people who want to run a legitimate business. They want to provide a service, make money, pay taxes and raise their children. The way the Aussie government greentards act you’d think they were planning on growing opium poppies. The Thompson’s are now to the point that the bank may repossess their property and they could end up being bankrupt and homeless with 4 children to feed.

While many people have made donations to help them, I’d urge you to help out with whatever you can, even if it’s 5 bucks. It all adds up and they are desperate with bills to pay and dire need of legal services. It appears that some government officials there think themselves above the law and just do whatever the hell they like, regardless of the consequences to their citizens or country. There are also articles on the Watts Up With That? website here.

The United States Environment Protection Agency (EPA) – An abuse of power?

Want bigger? Try the US Environmental Protection Agency who are beginning to sound like they should change their name to the US Environmental Protection Racket as they seem to act in similar fashion to the mafia. No cap & trade law passed by Congress? No problem! They’ll just do whatever they want! You can include their penchant for ignoring Congressional authority to regulate them. You’ d think Congress would get tired of them constantly flipping the bird at them, but it appears they, like the California Legislature, could really care less. Even though it seems to be an almost a daily affair to read about another EPA power grab over some alleged pollution or CO2 problem, they just let them go on and do whatever they like. I sincerely hope there’s an electoral bloodbath in Congress in November and that perhaps the Congressional Clown Circus will wake up and realize the voters have had it with this crap and defund the EPA Smog Nazis to remind them that Congress makes the rules, they just administer them.

Look at what the EPA’s been up to lately. See anyone in Congress bitching about it? If they get away with a little here and a little more there, won’t they take it as a licence from Congress to do whatever they like, whenever they like, to whomever they like?

You can read about what they’ve been up to hereherehere, herehereherehereherehere, and here, all reasons why I feel this agency is running amok and should in my opinion be reeled in by Congress before it’s too late. We don’t need eco-loons hell-bent on destroying the United States of America from within, running the EPA, we need reason and scientific fact, not dogma.

The United Nations – Scamming on a global scale?

Now let’s get to the last and biggest agency that appears to want to control the whole world. You’re probably aware of the UN’s Kyoto Treaty, which is a well-deserved bust, and also aware that the Copenhagen 13 conference was an abject failure in obtaining a new global warming treaty. A new treaty concerning global warming isn’t going to happen anytime soon and both warmers and skeptics are declaring it a still-birth.

The failure appears to have the United Nation’s ex-climate chief Yvo de Boer’s panties in a wad. He now appears to be advocating (reading between the lines) that since the United Nations can’t get a treaty signed then perhaps they should throw the democratic process in the garbage can, create some rather onerous “rules” and then go on a dictatorial global rampage, ordering all to comply or else. Per this article in the New York Times we get the following salient quotes…..

Rather than focus on reaching a legally binding climate agreement, the United Nations should take a stronger role in making sure that countries promote the development and use of cleaner energy sources, Yvo de Boer, the U.N.’s former climate chief, said on Friday.

Yes no vote, no consensus amongst the membership, screw that, we’ll just take over and do what we damn well please, democracy is dead, long live the United Nations Global Dictatorship. Dr. Evil for head dictator anyone?

At a time when the U.N.’s long-held ambition of reaching a new treaty to curb emissions blamed for global warming seems out of reach, Mr. de Boer said many countries, as well as companies, wanted “to be held accountable” for their efforts at promoting greener policies and industries.

Oh, I bet they will want “to be held accountable” because some genius at the money grabbing UN will soon figure out that along with dictating the world’s pollution requirements they can also fine the hell out of violators, thus enriching themselves and their buddies. They can also use the money to increase their size like a good bloated bureaucracy should and perhaps some day even rule the Earth.

Of course, all fines and costs associated with UN compliance will be passed on from the countries to the states and provinces, who will in turn pass it on to the counties and cities, who will then raise our taxes to pay for it, not to mention coming up with more onerous regulations that will create more fine money for the coffers. Big businesses will merely jack their prices up to compensate for the increased expense. Their CEO’s will still fly off in their private jets, spewing pollution and laughing on the way to make new deposits into their numbered Swiss bank accounts from increased profits and carbon trading.

After all it’s always all about the money. This will also allow the UN a way to transfer wealth from rich countries to 3rd world dictatorships under the guise of “climate change” helping to lay a larger foundation for their ultimate goal of having a one world government. Adolph Hitler wrote the book on using a crisis and creating enemies to get the public to go along with a government takeover and they appear to be using those tactics to get what they want. They also seem to be considering the Mafia as a business model and using graft to get what they want in cases where a lead pipe workout isn’t kosher. Start pumping copious amounts of cash into 3rd world dictatorships and they’ll go along with the program like little children being bribed with candy bars. By the time they figure out there’s a problem it will be too late.

The U.N. could help to fill that role and do more to help craft a rule book for the way countries like China monitor and verify pledges to lower greenhouse gas emissions, Mr. de Boer told the Global Clean Energy Forum, a conference convened by the International Herald Tribune.

The near-collapse of global talks on climate change in Copenhagen in December, coupled with the most serious financial crisis in decades, have left investors reassessing what role cash-strapped governments and international authorities can play in fostering clean energy.

Mr. de Boer, who helped to organize the summit meeting in Copenhagen, left the U.N. in July to become the special global adviser on climate change and sustainability at KPMG, a consulting firm.

You can read about the Global Clean Energy Forum by clicking on the link. In addition to de Boers as a speaker, we also have (surprise!) Rajendra Pachauri of IPCC fame about the report claiming (erroneously) that the Himalayan glaciers will melt by 2035, not to mention a host of other issues over the report. Here is a list of other speakers if you want to see who they listen to.

So, how much would you wager that the UN’s “rule book” will include fines and penalties to be levied by those “cash strapped” governments based upon non-existent global warming?” Want to bet the UN won’t get a piece of the action since they wrote the rule book? The soldiers in the Mafia kick part of their earnings to their captains, who in turn kick part of their take up to the Godfather. Sounds like a grand plan to me with the end result being global power for the “Godfather” United Nations. There’s plenty of money to be made off the suckers….I mean taxpayers.

I  have to also ask just how “convenient” is it that Mr. de Boer “conveniently” works for KPMG who may just reap billions of dollars dealing with new accounting schemes? Think they may be “conveniently” assisting in the creation of them? Want to bet they’re not invested heavily in things like carbon trading, wind power and solar power? I have to wonder about these things.

Let’s also not forget about those “reassessing” investors either who have perhaps dumped billions of dollars into the carbon trading black hole and no doubt want the carbon trading schemes fired up again so they can recoup those losses. Let’s also not forget the Mafia’s direct involvement in carbon trading either. I’m sure they love the thought of promoting global warming and carbon trading schemes so they can get rich off a global pool of suckers. Sometimes I wonder if the UN is really an extension of the Mafia, or vice-versa. Kind of makes sense sometimes if you think about it.

Reagan made some very astute observations about government, some of which are below. I’d apply them to any government, local, state, country and also and perhaps especially to the UN.

Government always finds a need for whatever money it gets.
Ronald Reagan

Government does not solve problems; it subsidizes them.
Ronald Reagan

Government exists to protect us from each other. Where government has gone beyond its limits is in deciding to protect us from ourselves.
Ronald Reagan

Government’s view of the economy could be summed up in a few short phrases: If it moves, tax it. If it keeps moving, regulate it. And if it stops moving, subsidize it.
Ronald Reagan

Or the true classic……

The most terrifying words in the English language are: I’m from the government and I’m here to help.
Ronald Reagan

Think about it. If you keep letting them get away with it you’ll soon rue the day you let this slide by. Non-elected officials will increase their dictating because Congress, Parliaments and governments around the world will sit on their hands and do nothing about nipping it in the bud. Then the Presidents and Prime Ministers will get in on the act and start issuing edicts instead of signing laws legally passed by elected officials. Finally, whole governments will start transferring power to the United Nations who will sooner than you think, be your one world dictatorship. The price of EVERYTHING will go up because it will cause carbon and thus need to be taxed to save the planet.

Think not? The United States is already poised to transfer control over the coastal waters of the United States and the Great Lakes to the United Nations. You can read about HR 3534, the Clear Act, here.

It’s time to take control and start voting the clowns out of office before it’s too late and we’ve ceded our authority as a nation, which has already begun.

Northeast CO2 Auction in the crapper.

We have a market, it’s in the crapper.  Seems the big Northeast CO2 auction prices have sold at the lowest allowable level of $1.86 per ton, which still seems like an awful high price for bullshit.

The allowances that power plants in the Northeast U.S. must buy to emit greenhouse gases fell to their lowest allowed level for the first time, selling for $1.86 a ton in the latest auction this week.

Allowance prices for the Regional Greenhouse Gas Initiative, or RGGI, hit their lowest level as the 10-state market set up to combat climate change remains over-supplied. Prices have slid as power demand slumps and the limits placed on CO2 emissions by the program remain considerably higher than what plants are actually pumping into the atmosphere.

I guess the power companies aren’t eager to flush their money down the toilet like the good little warmers would like them to do.

Well, I can’t wait for some bone-head bureaucrats to decide to lower the levels these plants can pump out and pray that the price rises in their carbon trading scheme. At which time I’m sure we’ll hear shouts of success from the warmer a-holes.

The greenest president…ever

The "First Dog" Spewing CO2 from his private jet - how green can you get?

Today we get this from “the greenest president ever” better known as Barack Hussein Obama. It seems that flying around on vacation after vacation after vacation after vacation and to fund-raiser after fund-raiser spewing out more CO2 than a small city and doing things like taking the helicopter a whopping 6 miles just aren’t enough to prove he’s “the greenest president ever.”

During his recent vacation to Bar Harbor, Maine we now find out he has a new trick in his book to prove how “green” he is. Per the Morning Sentinel article we find out what that new trick is.

Arriving in a small jet before the Obamas was the first dog, Bo, a Portuguese water dog given as a present by the late U.S. Sen Ted Kennedy, D-Mass.; and the president’s personal aide Reggie Love, who chatted with Baldacci.

Yes, good old Bo has to have his own private jet to fly around the country on now. Allah forbid he should ride in the same plane with “the greenest president ever,” Barack Hussein Obama.

Yet another case of CO2 Insanity, this time at the very top of the heap. Just how much “greener” will our president get? What next? A vacation on the USS Coral Sea? Will Bo have his own battleship with a poop deck?

Suggested new NOAA logo

We now appear to have twin-sisters to Satellitegate (of which you can read about here, here, herehere, and here), that I’m dubbing Plumegate and Seafoodgate.

It appears NOAA wasn’t just content with covering up problems with their satellites such as kaput sensors, sensors relaying faulty data and new satellites being sent into space with missing sensors. We now have what appear to be more cover-ups courtesy of NOAA, and who knows who else might be involved? Perhaps BP? Perhaps Obama? I can’t say but it would not surprise me if either of them were in on this.

Per this article at Mother Jones we have reports of NOAA trying to suppress scientists (ala BP read here) by trying to cover up the oil plumes they claim are still floating around the gulf……

Speaking of the BP cover-up, there are two very important pieces of news today about the extent to which the real impacts of the disaster have been hidden. In the St. Petersburg Times, Craig Pittman has this scathing report on how the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration attempted to silence scientists who discovered the vast undersea plumes of dispersed oil in the Gulf:

The reaction that USF announcement received from the Coast Guard and the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration, the federal agencies that sponsored their research: Shut up.

So, NOAA first tries to get USF to retract their report about the oil plumes and when that nefarious plan fails, they then proceed to try to talk them into keeping it a secret by not revealing it to the public. Per the article…..

Lubchenco confirmed Monday that her agency told USF and other academic institutions involved in the study of undersea plumes that they should hold off talking so openly about it. “What we asked for, was for people to stop speculating before they had a chance to analyze what they were finding,” Lubchenco said. “We think that’s in everybody’s interest. … We just wanted to try to make sure that we knew something before we speculated about it.”

Sounds like a lot of back-pedaling to me to cover up them trying to keep this out of the public eye so we’ll all thing everything is just wonderful in the Gulf of Mexico,  not to mention at NOAA, when it appears that is not the case. This isn’t the only nefarious thing that appears to be going on in the gulf either.  It appears we also have what I’ll call Seafoodgate.

There’s another extremely important piece out today, wherein the Associated Press documents how oil is already finding its way into the food web. Scientists are finding traces of oil in crab larvae:

The government said last week that three-quarters of the spilled oil has been removed or naturally dissipated from the water. But the crab larvae discovery was an ominous sign that crude had already infiltrated the Gulf’s vast food web — and could affect it for years to come.

Appears that we have yet another incident of government dishonesty. What I have been hearing on the news as of late is about how the seafood is just fine, the oil is gone, and y’all come on down to N’awlins and have some Shrimp Etouffee. This just doesn’t sound like it is an honest assessment of the situation to me.

I post this to again show how NOAA seems to have possibly caught a contagious disease called “Pinocchio Syndrome,” which causes what appear to be lies, cover-ups, ignoring facts, altering data, and other similar problems with the truth.

It seems like Ronald Reagan may have been thinking of the gulf oil spill when he said “The nine most terrifying words in the English language are: ‘I’m from the government and I’m here to help.'” Terrifying indeed, because it appears this is coming true.

Wind power = little CO2 reduction

From the Wall Street Journal we get an article titled “Wind Power Won’t Cool Down the Planet” showing us why putting all those bird-killing, fugly wind-turbines up isn’t going to change much.

The wind industry has achieved remarkable growth largely due to the claim that it will provide major reductions in carbon dioxide emissions. There’s just one problem: It’s not true. A slew of recent studies show that wind-generated electricity likely won’t result in any reduction in carbon emissions—or that they’ll be so small as to be almost meaningless.

None of it will lead to major cuts in carbon emissions, for two reasons. First, wind blows only intermittently and variably. Second, wind-generated electricity largely displaces power produced by natural gas-fired generators, rather than that from plants burning more carbon-intensive coal.

To condense the concept, you have to keep the coal plants running because you can’t just shut them off and then re-start them when the wind dies down, they’re not like a light bulb. They burn more fuel and they emit more pollutants.

This final quote is priceless. You can read the whole article here.

Perhaps it comes down to what Kevin Forbes, the director of the Center for the Study of Energy and Environmental Stewardship at Catholic University, told me: “Wind energy gives people a nice warm fuzzy feeling that we’re taking action on climate change.” Yet when it comes to CO2 emissions, “the reality is that it’s not doing much of anything.”

These wind farms receive billions of dollars in subsidies each year (which comes out of your pocket because your tax dollars are paying for it).Yet another waste of your tax dollars that could be spent on better endeavors, not to mention more CO2 Insanity.

Waaaah! Nobody wants to by my CO2!

Antelope Valley Station

Here we have a project with a power plant looking for someone to buy the CO2 they capture and evidently we have no takers thus far.

Basin Electric Power Cooperative is searching for customers to buy the carbon dioxide it plans to retain in an experiment to reduce emissions of the gas from its Antelope Valley power plant, a company official said.

One crucial element is whether Basin can find customers for the carbon dioxide that would be captured from one of Antelope Valley’s two 450-megawatt generating units, he said

Great Plains processes lignite coal to make synthetic natural gas and retains much of the carbon dioxide in the process.

Man I would have thought Al Gore would have been first in line to buy all this nasty CO2 up so he could stick it someplace. Perhaps he’s blowing all his money on masseuses, divorces and his new bachelor pad in upscale Montecito, California. Talk about more CO2 Insanity.

Sierra Club gets ‘asses kicked’ again today

Sounds like the Sierra Club is having a bad day. Perhaps it’s karma for all the money they cost taxpayers and consumers via their greentard lawsuits.

From the Hill we hear them lamenting that “green groups are getting their ‘asses kicked’ in Washington.”

Sierra Club Executive Director Michael Brune said “clean energy” advocates are getting their “asses kicked” inside the Beltway and is calling on environmental groups to rethink their strategies following the collapse of climate change legislation.

Who’s lamenting? I’m perfectly OK with no climate legislation and I hope it stays that way because it’s not any more of a real problem than Captain Kirk having problems on Star Trek is.

Next we get what amounts to perhaps the stupid moment of the year.

“The first thing we need to do is a good assessment of what went wrong. We should not try to do the same thing and expect a different result. We need to rethink what the best way is to build momentum to fight climate change.

Evidently he just doesn’t get the fact that the reason there’s a problem is because most of us with gray matter inside our cranium have figured out that anthropogenic global warming is a fraud and a hoax. If you want to know what went wrong how about telling people the truth and cease all the hysteria?

He proceeds to lay blame per below. Of course it just couldn’t be that the general public isn’t as stupid as the “warmers” think they are could it? Nah they’re all “geniuses” and the public are dumb.

“As advocates for clean energy we’re getting our asses kicked inside the Beltway, and part of the reason is that the oil and coal companies and, in many cases, the natural gas companies, have a much more powerful, much more dominant voice,” he said.

This is just too funny. Now he’s complaining about natural gas companies. Last I heart it’s one of the cleaner ways to get power without shredding birds or glowing in the dark. Shows you they really don’t like anything at all. What about nuclear? Oh yeah……

He warned against climate legislation that heaps subsidies on “clean” coal and nuclear power…..

Nope, can’t have nuclear either. I suppose if they get their greentard way and we all move back into caves they’ll be complaining about the smoke coming from the fire. Oh wait….we already have that in the San Francisco Bay Area because on certain nights it’s illegal to use your fireplace. I guess we can just all freeze to death, which I’m sure will make the Sierra Club happy, providing any of them are left alive.

More CO2 Insanity. Something I wish we’d run out of.
