Wind turbines Killing Bats

These two may grow up to be mincemeat thanks to wind turbines

No I’m not going batty, it’s true. Bats kill insects….ingested insects don’t eat crops…..we all get to eat dinner.

Throw wind turbines into the picture and its…..bats killed by wind turbines…..no bats to eat insects….either insects eat crops…or we use more pesticide to kill those crop eating insects…..pesticides run off into streams and aquifers….we ingest more pesticide.

Per this article in the Telegraph, this scenario is indeed true.

Scientists found the blades of wind turbines were a major threat to bats particularly when they are migrating.

Several migratory tree-living species of bats were being slaughtered “in unprecedented numbers” by wind turbines, said the researcher.

“Without bats, crop yields are affected,” said Dr McCracken.

“Pesticide applications go up.

population recovery is unlikely for decades or even centuries, if at all,”

Yes they’re not only bird choppers, they’re bat choppers and crop killers and possibly human killers, not to mention they are not profitable unless subsidized by your tax-dollars.

Why the greentards keep touting wind-power as being good is way beyond me. They should declare these an abomination and demand that the existing ones be removed and that no more new ones be built.

I believe if we’re going to invest in greentard energy schemes at least solar doesn’t chop birds and bats up. Investing in wind-power is CO2 Insanity.

Power Supplier Admits Going Green Will Put the Lights Out in Britain

No wind = no power = Problems

By: John O’Sullivan

British families have been told the shocking truth about the price of green energy. They must prepare to go without electricity for extended periods, warns UK’s top electricity boss.

Steve Holliday, National Grid’s chief executive issued a stark warning over the consequences of the UK ‘going green’ speaking to listeners to Radio 4’s Today program.

The shock admission was immediately picked up in the Daily Telegraph (March 2, 2011) in the article, ‘Era of constant electricity at home is ending, says power chief.’

Britain’s largest energy supplier, National Grid is one of the most lucrative privatised monopolies in the world. It dealt the cold realities to a nation already committed to spending £18 billion per year on unnecessary and unpopular ‘green’ taxes.

Brits told – Wind Turbines Whether You Like it or Not

The colossal company is hell-bent in pursuing an ill-conceived agenda to make it’s energy policy more ‘environmentally friendly’ by focusing on wind power.

When tackled about how the company was going to keep Britain’s lights on when the wind wasn’t blowing Mr. Holliday replied, “Families will have to get used to only using power when it was available, rather than constantly.”

Holliday’s plan will, in effect, take Britons back to the bad, sad old days of the 1970’s when the miner’s strike forced electricity generators to restrict supply and throw the nation’s workers onto the ‘three day week’ whereupon uncollected garbage and dead bodies were piled high workers and citizens endured a bleak winter in abject misery.

“As a society, we all need to be clear about what we can and cannot afford” continued the fat cat enjoying a one million a year salary and a £1.27m bonus.

Holliday’s vision confirms the predictions of an increasing number of experts exposing the myths of sustainable energy and documented in a new book,The False Promise of Green Energy. The book strongly suggests that green-job proponents have been getting away for too long peddling an unrealistic vision of energy production.

Holliday’s words are now fulfilling a bleak prophecy that imposing such ill-conceived measures will either bring a dramatic increase in the cost of energy or significant cuts in its use.

Citizens in Revolt over Green Energy Fascism

Physicist and leading energy critic, John Droz Jr. responded to Holliday’s bleak draconian prediction saying, “This is the type of ammunition that will resonate with all citizens, anyplace fighting wind energy.”

National Grid is used to controversy and is so unpopular a website‘National Greed’ has been set up to expose it’s shenanigans. Workers revolted over jobs being sent to India at the same time as annual profits hit £2,914million and senior executives were buying Ferrari’s and stabling them in a “hotel for fine automobiles” (Paul Routledge, Daily Mirror, 31/07/09).

Edit: I have seen some people questioning whether this is legitimate or not on other sites and someone questioned me because they were unable to find the article on the Telegraph website. I searched and manually nosed around their archives and was unable to find it on their site, too. I did locate a photograph of the page in the Telegraph with the article which is below.  Editor.

Editor’s Comments: Will this happen in California due to AB32, California’s Global Warming Law? Me and others have been predicting that AB32’s cap & trade will raise the cost of power to the point that people could be left unable to afford power for their homes and could cause businesses to  head elsewhere where  power is cheap. Other draconian measures in AB32 could also cause increases in prices of things made in California and also could cause businesses to take their manufacturing facilities elsewhere, which is already happening. Californians were duped by people like Arnold Schwarznegger, James Cameron, Bill Gates, and other famous greentards into voting no on Prop 23, which would have delayed implementation of AB32 until the unemployment level in California dropped.

You can read more about California’s current and coming problems with AB32 at the below links about this CO2 Insanity.

Global Panic as Green Sector Collapses and Investors Face Ruin

By John O’Sullivan

John O'Sullivan

Governments, investors and even the World Bank are rushing for the exits in the Great Escape from the green energy bubble.

Solar energy appears to be the worst affected sector so far. Dow Jones reports on a startling U-turn by Britain’s ultra-green government has caught investors off guard and shock waves across the markets will likely precipitate the further rush from green energy projects to shale gas.

The UK’s Department of Energy and Climate Change made the shock announcement as it revealed a comprehensive review of its Feed-in Tariff (FIT) program. Indications from data provider, Prequin are that over $1bn in earmarked funds may be lost as Britain now promises it will only hold tariffs until April 2012.

Green Investors Feeling Betrayed by European Governments

Britain’s decision is another nail in the coffin for Europe’s tottering green energy market. Last year the first of several crushing body blows was dealt to environmentalist dreams when the Spanish government retrospectively cut the value of its tariffs in its own U-turning energy review.

The devastated Spanish Solar Photovoltaic Industry Association, with mass bankruptcies on the cards, is accusing their government of utter betrayal is yet to carry out a threat to sue over the ruling.

As the green house of cards collapses Netherlands-based investment manager DIF and BNP Paribas and venture capitalists such as Future Capital Partners are rumored to be extremely fearful of further repercussions coming at a time when European public opinion is bored and fatigued after two decades of endless global warming hype.

UK Energy Minister Charles Hendry made the starkly ominous admission, “one third of Britons think the science on climate change has been exaggerated.”

Not helping the green cause has been a succession of brutally cold Northern hemispheric winters which an increasing number of scientists fear may be the harbinger of the onset of a mini-ice age.

Abundance of Shale Gas Deflates Green Energy Bubble

Causing green lobbyists and environmentally focused investors to cry bitter into their carrot juice comes the news that China is making its move to become pre-eminent in shale gas investment.

Peter Foster in the Financial Post (February 11, 2011) reports that energy company Encana is to get a proposed $5.4-billion investment by PetroChina in its shale gas operations. The move he says “confirms the soaring importance of a resource that 10 years ago was hardly on the commercial map.”

The market obviously liked the news of the Chinese investment as Encana shares jumped 4.5% to close at $32.02.

Savvy shale gas investors are also looking most eagerly at Canada where the discovery that Quebec has considerable shale gas potential has dealt another blow to the idea that the world’s energy resources are anywhere near a so-called “peak.”

A strident Quebec Oil and Gas Association has hired former Parti Quebecois premier Lucien Bouchard to help lobby for provincial development to exploit the unexpected huge find.

With so many known large deposits of shale gas in countries such as Poland, Germany, France and the U.K.  economic strategists are finally waking up to the fact that this monumental new resources could help free Europe from the threat of disruptions from its main natural gas supplier, Russia.

Andrew Orlowski reporting for ‘The Register’ (February 10, 2011) reveals Holland has also joined the rush away from green by becoming the first country to abandon the EU-wide target of producing 20 per cent of its domestic power from renewables. The Dutch are now putting their long-term faith in nuclear. Netherland’s only nuclear reactor, the Borssele plant, scheduled for closure by 2003 is now planned to operate at least until 2034.

World Bank Joins Rush Away from the Green White Elephant

Top line international bankers also appear to be abandoning ‘big green’ according to a report by climate scientist Roger Pielke Jr. who highlights two recent research papers published by influential thinkers inside the World Bank.

Economics papers by Robert Mendelsohn and Gokay Saher (here in PDF) and Medelsohn, Kerry Emanuel and Shun Chonabayashi (here in PDF) chop the legs from under the pro-green Stern Review (2007) and affirm that no human impact may be inferred on global climate.

With economists plainly joining an increasing number of scientists in global warming skepticism its little wonder there’s now a mass flight away from ‘renewables;’ such that both investors and governments are compelled to follow suit in the clearest indication yet that green energy won’t live up to its promises.

The key to long-term economic success now appears to be safely premised once again on solid market innovation, not ideologically driven government subsidies; such subsidized ventures have a long and notorious history as lame duck enterprises. It seems ‘green renewables’ has become the latest of these white elephants.

Wind turbines chop up money faster than birds

Taxpayer Ripoff Wind Turbine

You have to “love” this one. The Telegraph reports on a wind turbine that cost more than it saves.

The 280 ft turbine situated in a business park near the M4 in Reading operated at just 15 per cent of its capacity year, meaning it generated £100,000 of energy, despite attracting subsidies of £130,000 from the Government.

15% capacity? Sounds like they need Prince Charles to head over there and blow some hot air about deniers on the damn thing and get those blades moving. What a joke and it’s on the taxpayers in the UK and coming to the USA soon.

Windpowergate – Massive Pollution Making Wind Turbines

From the Daily Mail we get an item that shows that in addition to being bird-choppers, eyesores, needing subsidization, being immensely inefficient (no wind no power) and creating noise that can drive local residents to abandon their houses, they also create a lot of pollution during the manufacturing process.

On the outskirts of one of China’s most polluted cities, an old farmer stares despairingly out across an immense lake of bubbling toxic waste covered in black dust. He remembers it as fields of wheat and corn.

Yes all you greentards, this is an environmental disaster that is being created to make investors rich and greentards all touchy-feely-feel-goody.

Live has uncovered the distinctly dirty truth about the process used to extract neodymium: it has an appalling environmental impact that raises serious questions over the credibility of so-called green technology.

The reality is that, as Britain flaunts its environmental credentials (and creates big eyesores – editor) by speckling its coastlines and unspoiled moors and mountains with thousands of wind turbines, it is contributing to a vast man-made lake of poison in northern China. This is the deadly and sinister side of the massively profitable rare-earths industry that the ‘green’ companies profiting from the demand for wind turbines would prefer you knew nothing about.

Hidden out of sight behind smoke-shrouded factory complexes in the city of Baotou, and patrolled by platoons of security guards, lies a five-mile wide ‘tailing’ lake. It has killed farmland for miles around, made thousands of people ill and put one of China’s key waterways in jeopardy.

This vast, hissing cauldron of chemicals is the dumping ground for seven million tons a year of mined rare earth after it has been doused in acid and chemicals and processed through red-hot furnaces to extract its components.

You can read all about how being green is turning the water green (and other assorted colors) at the source below. This is an abomination and certainly one of the biggest cases of CO2 Insanity I have seen. The article goes into great detail about what is going on in China and I’d urge you to read the whole thing regardless what side of the global warming debate you are on.

Greentards to run out of ‘green’

Nissan Leaf dashboard registering that $0 rebate you may get if you buy one

Well, here’s a Merry Christmas for all those people who are planning on buying  Nissan Leaf, Chevrolet Volt or other electric car and getting that $5,000 rebate from the soon to be broke State of California. Guess what? Santa won’t be bringing you a big check and you will be very lucky if you even get a lump of coal in your stocking. Per the Los Angeles Times……

With $8 million in state coffers for the program and the Nissan Leaf now hitting the market, funds for the $5,000 rebate may be depleted by mid-2011, an electric-vehicle advocate estimate

Yes, California aka: Greentardia won’t have enough money to spread around to subsidize the greentards who want to buy electric cars!

We believe the rebates will run out……

And with California mired in fiscal crisis, there’s no guarantee that rebate funds intended for future years will actually be there, Air Resources Board officials said.

Here we go again with more BS from Sacramento, the hot air capitol of the state. They want all this ‘wonderful’ stuff, but they don’t have the money to pay for it.

Will AB32’s mandated cap & trade be the same thing? They’ll want power plants to clean up their act but considering the state’s financial crisis will they have any money to pay them for things such as improvements and switching to solar and wind power?

I note that because it appears that the installation of solar and wind power generation plants in the California desert may be whacked, too. The Indians and greentards have filed lawsuits, that in my opinion effectively halts solar and wind power construction. The suit will no doubt cost major money and guess who’s going to get stuck with the bill when it’s all over? Ummm….you don’t really think the state or your friendly public utility is going to eat all the legal costs and the costs associated with what could be a major delay do you? More likely than not, this will result in some form of increased taxation and higher rates for power.

This is more CO2 Insanity that will filter down and eventually help empty the consumer’s (your) wallet even faster than it already is being emptied by the state of Greentardia.
