Join the Hope & Change Sticky Note Campaign

Now I like this one. It’s real simple, non-destructive and gets the point across. All you need to do is get a pad of sticky notes and write on each one…….

…… “How’s that Hope & Change working out for you?” Every time you stop to fill your vehicle with gas, place your sticky note somewhere on the pump before you drive away. DO NOT be destructive in ANY way! Place your sticky note somewhere, so as not to impede the next customer’s ability to read the pump’s digital readout.

You can go to their Facebook page here to read more about it and see suggestions on where else to place the sticky notes. The hashtag on Twitter is #stickynote if you want to tweet about it.

I’m stocking up on sticky notes tomorrow!

Another Obama Administration Flip-Flop

Energy Secretary Steven Chu - We need to raise....I mean...lower gas prices!

So far I haven’t seen much in the way of President Obama and his Administration keeping many campaign promises that were made during the last election. This is now holding true with their goal of raising gas prices to force us all to drive ecotardmobiles.

We now have that coming back to bite them in the behind. If you remember, Energy Secretary Steven Chu called for higher gas prices during the election. From a Wall Street Journal article on December 12, 2008 we get this bit of ecotardness…….

In a sign of one major internal difference, Mr. Chu has called for gradually ramping up gasoline taxes over 15 years to coax consumers into buying more-efficient cars and living in neighborhoods closer to work.

“Somehow we have to figure out how to boost the price of gasoline to the levels in Europe,” Mr. Chu, who directs the Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory in California, said in an interview with The Wall Street Journal in September.

So, now that gas prices have ‘ramped’ up to over $4.00 per gallon in some places like California and Hawaii, in less than 1 year, we have a different story.

Now that people are screaming, it’s becoming a threat to national security, it’s threatening to destabilize the economy again and ticking off voters, we suddenly get an about-face from Mr. Chu about what his job description is per an article from Fox News titled “Chu: My Job is to Take the Pain Out of High Gas Prices“…….

Energy Secretary Steven Chu, who in 2008 called for ramping up gas prices to those comparable to Europe in order to coax Americans toward green energy, said that as head of his department, he’s working on “developing methods to take the pain out of high gas prices.”

Well, promise or threat, it’s yet another Obama Administration faux pas to go from wanting to jack up gas prices to wanting to lower them. Meanwhile, our President is in Brazil today telling the Brazilians they can drill off-shore in the Gulf of Mexico while the EPA continues to try to hogtie our oil companies so they cannot drill there. I guess ‘drill baby drill” only applies to foreign oil companies that George Soros has $811 million invested in.

Remember, this is the same President who said during his campaign stated……

The President does not have power under the Constitution to unilaterally authorize a military attack in a situation that does not involve stopping an actual or imminent threat to the nation.

As Commander-in-Chief, the President does have a duty to protect and defend the United States. In instances of self-defense, the President would be within his constitutional authority to act before advising Congress or seeking its consent.

…..yet continues on in Afghanistan and Iraq and now starts a war with Libya while leaving the border between the United States and Mexico in a very porous state in spite of stating “the President does have a duty to protect and defend the United States.”

This is also the same President who with the help of Harry Reid and Nancy Pelosi pushed through Obamacare and then turned around and so far has exempted over 1,000 entities from participating in Obamacare, the bill we had to read after it was passed.

Can we get some consistency please? The flip-flopping in the Obama White House is amazing and it’s making me dizzy.

Climate Czar Browner Boogies

"What is that damn ringing in my ear?"

Ernest Hemingway wrote a novel titled For Whom the Bell Tolls. The catch line was “For whom the bell tolls, it tolls for thee.” Well, it’s been tolling away for cap and trade dying for a while now and continues on ringing. The United States Congress has failed to pass any cap & trade laws and now that the Republicans control the House or Representatives, any deals with that are probably DOA. Next, the Chicago Climate Change (CCX) (Al Gores’ baby), kicked the bucket at the end of 2010, and shortly thereafter the Euro Carbon Market suspended trading due to fraud problems.

In what appears to be another harbinger of things to come, White House Climate Czar, Carol Browner (head of the EPA during the Clinton days) has now boogied right out the White House back door which seems to perhaps indicate that the final nail in the cap & trade coffin has been pounded in, not to mention this seems to also be an indication that perhaps the Obama Administration is finally going to cease trying to pass onerous cap & trade laws that will only serve to raise the price of goods in the United States, which will drive more businesses out of business or off shore and further reduce the tax intake.

While it’s a start at removing the liberal-leftist-communist-greentards from the picture, we still need to have Congress reign in the EPA who appear hell-bent on creating more problems than they solve.
